About Our Pastor/Mission Developer

Our pastor is Donis (Don) H. Watkins, a native of Paducah. After residing in Florida for over 30 years, he has returned to Paducah to plant New Geneva.

A graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School who attended UT-Martin on a track scholarship, he holds a BA degree from Florida Atlantic University, a Master of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, MS, and a Doctor of Ministry from the Orlando campus of RTS.  He is currently a graduate student of historical theology at Westminster Seminary’s London campus.  Don’s 30 years of ministry experience includes planting two churches in Vero Beach, FL, as well as serving in various pastoral capacities including hospice chaplaincy and directing a Christian drug treatment center.

Don’s wife Ann grew up in the Florida panhandle and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where she played on the tennis team. A certified teacher, she has a background in ministry with the Navigators as well as being a pastor’s wife for almost 20 years.  Ann has been a home school evaluator, and she and Don enjoy their roles as home schooling parents.

Don is the proud father of six children: Blair (married to Katie), Julia, Abigail, Clay, Evan, and Hunter, and the very proud grand-father of three: Connor, Elliot, and Hayden.
